If you’re wondering what this is about, Anonymous has been waging an internet war against the Church of Scientology, a dangerous cult which is basically a pyramid scheme hiding behind a religious label. Anon has been DDoSing their websites, black faxing, e-mail bombing, prank calling, and raiding prominent Co$ locations in an effort to dismantle the “church”. The above video is a parody of the initial message issued by Anonymous. While Fox News hasn’t come forth with an apology, Lawrence has admitted her mistakes in an interview with the New York Times yesterday after angry gaming fans trashed her book on Amazon.”
Some time last year, I was introduced to the phenomenon of Youtube Poop. Several of these became popular favorites amongst myself and my friends, such as “Gutsman’s Ass” and “Over 9000!!”. But some of my more personal favorites just happened to be by a guy who liked to use footage from classic vidya game cartoons like The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, the Super Mario Bros. cartoons, and the Phillips CD-iZelda “game”.
A few months back, however, when hanging out with my friend Fabio and a few others at ASU’s Student Center, we discovered that these videos - including “Ganon Hates Grating Cheese” and “Robotnik Wants KFC” were suddenly nowhere to be found. Even when searching on Google, we found pages that had embedded these video, but when we tried to play them we were met with an ominous message saying that the video had been removed. Although disappointed and confused, I didn’t really investigate the matter much more after that, until about three or four weeks ago when I wanted to show a couple coworkers these videos.
