That’s Delete Your Myspace Day

I got an e-mail from Simon Owens from Bloggasm with an update on International Delete Your Myspace Day:

Hey, I saw that you linked to my International Delete Your Myspace Account Day post earlier. Well, starting at midnight the celebration begins. I put up a brand new post in recognition to the event. It explains step by step how to delete an account:

day-is-here

Have fun and happy deletion.

–Simon

So what are you waiting for? Get going!

A note: I don’t even have a Myspace account. I never have and probably never will. But I still urge everybody to torch theirs promptly. With each Myspace account that is deleted, the Internet breathes a new gasp of life.

Comcast Is Catching Heat

Published by Flint under Net Neutrality

” Two weeks into a Federal Communications Commission public comment period on whether Comcast deliberately degrades P2P broadband traffic, there’s no shortage of angry users who feel cheated and want the tampering to stop. Evidence is also mounting that Comcast is blocking more than just P2P traffic. ”

The users are really letting Comcast have it in this proceeding. The evidence is piling high, which is good. Still no telling what will come of this, however, since Comcast has yet to respond to the charges.

Check out Cicada

Published by Flint under Music

I made a musical discovery today while at work. It’s an electronica band called Cicada (though it’s just one guy). It sounds a little like Aphex Twin with vocals, which remind me of Depeche Mode. But i’ve only got one album so far. He offers all of his songs on his website for free download, which is also really cool. Check it out here. I wish I had my laptop, or at least my iPod connector with me. I’m not looking forward to having to leave work for class and not being able to listen to more until I get home late tonight. Oh well. Speaking of work, the Internet has been moving painfully slow here all day. Very annoying when you’re trying to download Xbox hueg satellite imagery for a work project. D:
